Shelly 3EM-63T Gen3 - Single or Three-Phase Energy Meter
The Shelly 3EM-63T Gen3 is a compact energy meter with flat terminals (hence 'T' in the name), designed to monitor either a three-phase system or three independent single-phase circuits, integrating into smart home systems or professional setups to provide accurate, real-time data to optimise energy efficiency.
The device offers precise 4-quadrant measurement for accurate energy monitoring across both three-phase systems and single-phase circuits. Its flexible setup allows standalone Wi-Fi use or integration with popular home automation platforms such as Home Assistant. It can work standalone in a local Wi-Fi network, or it can also be operated through cloud home automation services through MQTT, HTTP, and WebSocket. All inbound connections support TLS.
It reports accumulated energy as well as instantaneous voltage, current, active and apparent power per phase in real time. It stores the data in non-volatile memory that can be retrieved for a period of up to 7 days in 1-minute intervals. The device has a real-time clock to keep the correct time if the connection to an SNTP server is lost, and an embedded Web Interface which can be used to monitor and control the device, as well as adjust its settings.
Its compact design makes installation easy. Additionally, it’s future-ready, supporting photovoltaic system monitoring to track solar energy production alongside grid usage.
Key features include:
- Wi-Fi operated, Bluetooth inclusion - connect the device to your Wi-Fi network. No HUB required!
- Energy Metering - monitor voltage, current, power factor, and active and apparent power and energy
- Advanced-Data Logging - stores energy data for up to 7 days in 1-minute intervals
- Flexible installation - easy fit to a DIN-rail circuit breakers
- Multiple Connection Types - supports three-phase or single-phase installations
- Current transformer connection - non-contact current measurements
Home energy management
The device provides homeowners with an intuitive way to monitor and optimize their energy usage.
By offering real-time insights into the power consumption of individual appliances or entire circuits, the device helps users identify high-energy-consuming devices and adjust their habits to reduce energy costs. For instance, monitoring the energy usage of heating or cooling systems can reveal opportunities to implement more efficient schedules. Additionally, the device’s local automation capabilities allow homeowners to create rules that automatically shut off unnecessary appliances during periods of peak consumption, ensuring smarter and more efficient energy usage without compromising convenience.
Cost optimisation for businesses
Businesses and commercial spaces benefit greatly from the precision and flexibility of the device.
Designed to track energy usage across three independent circuits, it enables business owners to monitor specific machines, departments, or processes. This granular level of tracking allows more accurate allocation of energy costs, helping to identify inefficiencies or excessive energy use.
With detailed consumption data readily available, businesses can plan operational improvements, reduce overhead costs, and ensure energy efficiency across their facilities.
Solar energy monitoring
The device is an ideal solution for those using photovoltaic (PV) systems to harness solar power.
By monitoring both energy production and consumption, users can ensure their solar panels are functioning at peak performance. The device helps users track the alignment between energy generation and usage, allowing them to optimize their consumption patterns during periods of high solar output.
For instance, homeowners can schedule energy-intensive tasks, such as charging an electric vehicle or running large appliances, during peak daylight hours to minimize dependency on the grid. For those aiming to maximize their investment in renewable energy, The device provides the insights needed to make every watt count.
